One of the biggest requests from employers throughout the LSIP has been the need for better and more flexible upskilling training. Skills Bootcamps are one of the answers to that need.
Designed to deliver on the needs of the employer, Skills Bootcamps can develop existing staff and train new people ready for recruitment.
With a new wave of Bootcamps due to start in 2024/25, the Lancashire Skills & Employment Hub are seeking direct input from businesses at a special engagement event.
A message from the Hub team:
“Following the success of our Skills Bootcamps programme, The Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub has the opportunity to submit a proposal to the Department for Education for further funding to continue and expand its Skills Bootcamp provision for the financial year 2024/25.
We have recently held a couple of engagement events to support this activity and we are now wanting to engage with Lancashire businesses who are looking to either upskill or recruit people and would like to find out more information about the Skills Bootcamps project.
Skills Bootcamps are predominantly aimed at level 3- 5 technical skills and can be an accredited course, components of other courses or something totally new designed to meet your industry standards. The courses range in length but must be no more than 16 weeks.
We are therefore pleased to invite you to the Wave 5 Skills Bootcamps Employer Market Engagement event. This event will be held in-person on Thursday 17th August from 8.30am to 11am at Shout Connect on Preston Docks.
We are eager to ensure that we have a broad offer across Lancashire which reflects the skills needs of our employers and therefore we would welcome your attendance.
