The Chamber of Commerce team leading on the Lancashire Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) have started collating information for an annual Progress Report.

The report will be sent to the Department for Education and will be published for local employers, stakeholders and providers to see how the local skills system has responded to the recommendations featured in the LSIP report published in August 2023.

It will be important to understand what activity has already taken place, any impact or benefit already being demonstrated, and what still needs to be done.

In order to report on these points we need to hear from providers and stakeholders about what they have put in place to respond to employer needs and how skills funding has been spent across the county. Hearing from employers who have accessed any new training or been involved in engagement groups with providers would also be very useful in order to understand how well new initiatives are addressing employer needs.

If you have used any courses, taken on an apprentice on a programme you've not used before, taken on a T Level or other industry placement, accessed or recruited from a Skills Bootcamp, joined an sector-based skills group, or been involved with any other new skills activity the LSIP team want to hear from you.

To share your experience or to find out more about what information is needed please contact geoffm@lancashirelsip.co.uk or call 01772 706582.
